Tour the Old, Old Post Office:
  The Postal Wall

The postal walls remain today and are integrated into the main hallway

An intricately carved floor-to-ceiling oak postal wall greets visitors to the building. A frieze and carved signage overhead highlight this decorative yet functional wall. Behind one portion of this wall lies the library, once the original postal sorting area. A spy passageway with peepholes allowing postal inspectors to check employees' honesty was transformed into mezzanine offices. You can still see the passageway's original ceiling and pulley-system windows.
