Allen Killworth is a partner in the Bricker & Eckler health care group, with a practice focusing on the day-to-day operations of a variety of health care facilities as well as those facilities' dealings with administrative agencies and court proceedings. Allen previously served as an attorney in the general counsel’s office of a fully integrated health system in southwest Ohio.
Representative Experience
Represents hospitals in medical staff and credentialing issues, including organization of medical staff bylaws and management of physician corrective actions from outset through hearing and appeals
Assists hospitals and other health care entities with accreditation, licensure, and certification issues, including: Medicare Conditions of Participation and handling CMS surveys; as well as TJC, AOA, DNV accreditation
Represents hospitals and other health care entities in HIPAA and confidentiality and privacy issues
Works with hospitals and other health care entities on compliance matters and assists with internal and external compliance auditing and guidance
Counsels hospitals and other health care entities on various other health care regulatory issues, including: EMTALA; physician recruitment and employment; and consent, advanced directives, and patient care matters
Counsels hospitals and other health care entities on tax regulations affecting health care and non-profit issues
Assists hospitals and other health care entities with fraud and abuse regulatory matters, including the Stark law, the Anti-kickback law, and the False Claims Act
