Hope Sharett is a member of the firm's public finance group with an emphasis on providing legal counsel to government entities concerning matters of public law and finance.
Representative Experience
Assists school districts, municipalities, townships and other government issuers as bond counsel for general obligation and special obligation bond and note transactions, including multi-modal adjustable rate financings
Provides underwriter's counsel and bond counsel assistance for structured financings of the State of Ohio, municipal port authorities and other government issuers
Provides general counsel assistance to government entities concerning matters of public law and compliance
Advises and assists school districts, libraries, municipalities and other political subdivisions with election proposals for voted tax levies and bond issues
Served as Director of Outside Counsel for the Ohio Attorney General and responsible for the management of a $35 million budget and the provision of legal services to more than 80 state entities; public finance activities of note while Director of Outside Counsel included: advised state entities concerning the use of public funds for investment and development purposes and assisted issuer's counsel for the $5 billion securitization of the State of Ohio's tobacco receipts - the largest bond financing for the State of Ohio to date
