Effective in 1984, Ohio enacted laws governing collective bargaining for public employers. As a result,
the firm's background in employment law has become a significant asset in counseling education clients.
That counseling includes representation before the State Employment Relations Board in unfair
labor practice issues and for union recognition and decertification.
We further assist clients in matters such as the processing of contract terminations and non-renewals, the defense of employment discrimination, wrongful discharge, and workers' compensation claims, and the handling of civil service and occupational safety compliance issues. Additionally, we provide legal counsel with regard to MR/DD legal matters as well as tax and employee benefit issues, including fringe benefit plans, COBRA compliance, tax-sheltered annuities, and cafeteria plans.
