H.B. 545 - Short-Term Loans
Sponsored by Representative Chris Widener (R-Sprinfield)

Repeals the Check-Cashing Lender Law, establishes the short-term lender law, authorizes depository financial institutions to make short-term loans with special terms, creates a short-term installment loan linked deposit program, and expands the responsibilities of the Consumer Finance Education Board.

Makes changes to the law governing viatical settlements.

H.B. 125 - Health Insurance Contracts
Sponsored by Representative Matt Huffman (R-Lima)

Establishes certain uniform contract provisions between health care providers and third-party payers, establishes standardized credentialing, and requires third-party payers to provide to health care providers specified information concerning enrollees.

H.B. 46 - Credit Reports

Requires a consumer reporting agency to place a security freeze on a consumer's credit report in response to a consumer's request.

Prohibits insurers, public employee benefit plans, and multiple employer welfare arrangements from excluding coverage for routine patient care administered as part of a cancer clinical trial.
