H.B. 463 - Chicken Pox Immunization
Sponsored by Representative Courtney Combs (R-Hamilton)

Requires students to be immunized against chicken pox subject to certain exceptions.

H.B. 362 - School District Levies
Sponsored by Representative James Hoops (R-Napoleon)

Changes the statutory designation of school district permanent improvement levies that may be levied continuously.

H.B. 106 - Juvenile Delinquent Records
Sponsored by Representative Brian Williams (R-Akron)

Requires that upon a child's discharge or release from the custody of the Department of Youth Services certain records pertaining to that child be released to the superintendent of the school district in which the child is entitled to attend school and specifies that a school district's policy on the assignment of students to an alternative school may provide for the assignment of any child released from the custody of the Department of Youth Services to such a school.

H.B. 3 - Public School Accountability
Sponsored by Representative John Schlichter (R-Washington CH)

Directs the General Assembly's deliberations to modify the state public school accountability system.

S.B. 79 - Boards of Education
Sponsored by Senator Steve Stivers (R-Columbus)

Permits boards of education and governing boards of educational service centers to adopt, for the purpose of nominating candidates for those boards, a charter municipal corporation’s procedures for nominating candidates, if that municipal corporation is located wholly or partially within the school district.

S.B. 12 - Community School Conversion
Sponsored by Senator Randy Gardner (R)

Removes the prohibition on establishing a conversion community school as an Internet- or computer-based community school.

S.B. 2 - Teaching Success
Sponsored by Senator Robert Gardner (R)

Directs that the General Assembly's ongoing efforts to improve the quality of teaching in Ohio include provisions recommended by the Governor's Commission on Teaching Success.
