Bricker & Eckler was among the first law firms in Ohio to be recognized as an expert in urban redevelopment projects. The firm has represented developers and worked with municipalities on major redevelopment projects in Akron, Columbus, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Toledo, and Pittsburgh. In addition to conventional development skills, urban redevelopment projects require special abilities in municipal law, tax abatement issues and public debt financing. Bricker & Eckler also has extensive experience in working with the state of Ohio, several Ohio counties, and various community improvement corporations on obtaining development incentives for our clients, such as industrial development and Ohio Water Development Authority bond financings, and we have acted as special bond counsel for several State governmental entities in connection with the issuance of bonds to finance real estate related development.
