Consistent with our rich tradition and commitment to diversity and inclusion, Bricker & Eckler offers the Charles H. Walker Diversity & Inclusion Scholarship.

Established to provide a second-year law student with a valuable employment experience early in their legal career, this scholarship is awarded to a candidate who demonstrates leadership skills, academic strength, service to the community and an overall commitment to excellence, and who has exhibited a meaningful commitment to diversity and inclusion.

We proudly dedicate this scholarship in honor of our partner and trusted friend, Charles H. Walker, whose career and service to our community exemplify a strong commitment to both the legal profession and Bricker's tradition of diversity and inclusion. For many years, he served as a recruiter and mentor to our younger attorneys and helped guide Bricker & Eckler's diversity and inclusion commitment.

Students who will be 2L students in the fall currently enrolled in an ABA-approved law school are eligible to apply for the scholarship. One scholarship in the form of a $10,000 cash award (less any applicable taxes and withholdings) toward law school tuition and other law school related expenses is awarded each year. In addition, the scholarship recipient receives a paid summer associate position.

The application process for the 2016 scholarship is now closed. Please check back in Spring 2016 for information about the 2017 scholarship.

Bricker is seeking an attorney with experience at an antitrust enforcement agency and/or providing antitrust advice and guidance to health care providers in various types of transactions, and in the handling of investigations. Director of Facilities and Services
Bricker & Eckler is looking for a highly experienced Director of Facilities and Services to oversee our historic building in downtown Columbus as well as our five other office locations. Reporting directly to the COO and as a member of the Operations Team, candidates must have the knowledge to plan, develop, and implement new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of resources. Position also serves as firm’s liaison with related service providers and vendors. Prior budgeting, project management and supervisory experience required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Candidates should also possess exceptional communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.

Public Finance Analyst
Bricker & Eckler is looking for a highly motivated, independent and detail-oriented individual with excellent analytical and critical thinking skills to work within our Public Finance Group. Candidates should possess an undergraduate degree in economics, math, finance or accounting. A minimum of two years of banking or investment industry experience to include experience with DBC is preferred. Must have a strong knowledge of computers and the ability to read, interpret and translate financial information and have a high level of competency in Excel including the ability to utilize and/or create customized financial models. Candidates should also possess exceptional communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.

SQL Database Administrator
Bricker & Eckler is looking for a self-motivated database administrator who will be responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of SQL server databases. This role will be active in developing and supporting custom applications and integrating packaged solutions to meet the enterprise needs. The ideal candidate must have 3-5 years of database administration experience using Microsoft SQL server; experience creating and optimizing database queries, indexes, stored procedures, triggers and reports. In addition, working knowledge and familiarity with customer support best practices and use of ticket tracking application. Candidates should also possess exceptional communication skills and the ability to prioritize work assignments and shift work efforts based on the needs of the department or business goals.

Marketing & Business Development Manager
Bricker & Eckler is looking for a new member of our in-house marketing communications team to direct and implement the marketing efforts of some of our most important practice and industry groups. Candidates should have five or more years’ experience in marketing, communications, or public relations. Legal marketing, agency, association or health care marketing experience is a plus. Candidate must possess strong communication and writing skills, client service skills, and desire to work as part of a collaborative team.

Web Developer – Internship
Bricker & Eckler is looking for a summer Web Developer Intern. This intern will work with the company’s database administrator to ensure operation and maintenance of all web based applications, SQL databases and related systems. As a Web Developer intern, you'll work side-by-side with our SQL DBA in supporting and enhancing current applications and building new applications. This position will also provide assistance on the many projects that are lined up for the coming months. We are looking for a self-motivated student who possesses a strong technical aptitude, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and an ability to prioritize work assignments and shift work efforts based on the needs of the department or business goals. This internship represents a unique opportunity for students to gain work experience and increase their understanding of relevant issues related to their field of study.

Litigation Paralegal
Bricker & Eckler is looking for a highly motivated, reliable and detail orientated Litigation Paralegal to join our team. We are looking for someone who has enthusiasm for challenges, tenacity for tedious jobs and a willingness to learn, to assist with preparation of legal cases that may eventually go to trial or mediation. Candidates should have a familiarity with local courts and administrative agencies, including procedural rules. Must have experience with litigation software and an aptitude for training on new systems; excellent written/oral communication skills; strong attention to detail; excellent editing skills, including proof-reading and cite-checking. In addition, candidates should display a high level of professionalism, reliability and have the ability to work well on a team and with personnel at all levels. Bachelor’s degree and paralegal certification required.
