Summer Associates

Bricker & Eckler’s summer associate program is a long and valued tradition at our firm. We offer an in-depth learning experience that provides exposure to the legal profession at a respected mid-sized law firm, while identifying top legal talent to join our practice upon graduation.

The attorneys and staff at Bricker work together to challenge, stimulate and motivate our summer associates as they develop and thrive, doing real client work, collaborating with practicing lawyers, developing a camaraderie with their class, and finding out what it is like to practice at Bricker & Eckler.

We encourage current law students to explore the opportunities at our firm. The recruiting program for the 2017 summer associates is complete. In the fall of 2018, we will again be seeking law students with strong academic backgrounds and leadership skills for our 2018 summer associate class.

Consistent with our rich tradition and commitment to diversity and inclusion, Bricker & Eckler offers the Charles H. Walker Diversity & Inclusion Scholarship.

Established to provide a second-year law student with a valuable employment experience early in their legal career, this scholarship is awarded to a candidate who demonstrates leadership skills, academic strength, service to the community and an overall commitment to excellence, and who has exhibited a meaningful commitment to diversity and inclusion.

We proudly dedicate this scholarship in honor of our partner and trusted friend, Charles H. Walker, whose career and service to our community exemplify a strong commitment to both the legal profession and Bricker's tradition of diversity and inclusion. For many years, he served as a recruiter and mentor to our younger attorneys and helped guide Bricker & Eckler's diversity and inclusion commitment.

Students who will be 2L students in the fall currently enrolled in an ABA-approved law school are eligible to apply for the scholarship. One scholarship in the form of a $10,000 cash award (less any applicable taxes and withholdings) toward law school tuition and other law school related expenses is awarded each year. In addition, the scholarship recipient receives a paid summer associate position.

The application process for the 2016 scholarship is now closed. Please check back in Spring 2016 for information about the 2017 scholarship.
