Established to provide a second-year law student with a valuable employment experience early in their legal career, this scholarship is awarded to a candidate who demonstrates leadership skills, academic strength, service to the community and an overall commitment to excellence, and who has exhibited a meaningful commitment to diversity and inclusion.
We proudly dedicate this scholarship in honor of our partner and trusted friend, Charles H. Walker, whose career and service to our community exemplify a strong commitment to both the legal profession and Bricker's tradition of diversity and inclusion. For many years, he served as a recruiter and mentor to our younger attorneys and helped guide Bricker & Eckler's diversity and inclusion commitment.
Students who will be 2L students in the fall currently enrolled in an ABA-approved law school are eligible to apply for the scholarship. One scholarship in the form of a $10,000 cash award (less any applicable taxes and withholdings) toward law school tuition and other law school related expenses is awarded each year. In addition, the scholarship recipient receives a paid summer associate position.

Sr. Litigation Support Specialist
Bricker & Eckler is looking for a self-motivated Senior Litigation Support Specialist to provide support to clients, attorneys, paralegals and litigation support staff with electronic discovery activities and needs. This hands-on position requires advance knowledge of the EDRM. This position is responsible for client data collections, database maintenance, importing and exporting data, data manipulation and conversions, organizing case-related data on the network locations, performing quality control procedures, maintaining media, data and production indices. The ideal candidate must have 3 years of project management experience, including previous experience managing litigation data discovery; minimum of 2 years of experience in a law firm or corporate law department environments. In addition, knowledge of case management and litigation processes and lifecycle and the ability to manage full-cycle electronic case data from inception to trial or case closing. Candidates should also possess excellent project management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
Professional Development Assistant
Bricker & Eckler is looking for a Professional Development Assistant to join our team. This is a part-time position working between 20 to 25 hours per week, however, flexibility to work additional hours during busy periods is required. The daily work hours are flexible, as long as they occur between our normal business hours of 7:30 am and 6:00 pm. This position will support the entirety of the firm’s legal recruiting efforts, including pipeline, entry-level, lateral Associate and lateral Partner hiring. This role will also support the professional development initiatives for Non-Partners, which include onboarding, training, mentoring and diversity & inclusion. The ideal candidate should have 2 to 3 years of experience in recruitment, proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Outlook and strong analytical, project management and organizational skills. Prior law firm or professional services industry experience, working knowledge of Symplicity and an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree are preferred.

We are specifically seeking someone with strong secretarial and administrative talents with at least two years of prior legal experience. The ideal candidate will support several of our attorneys, will perform full-time reception duties, and will provide additional clerical support, to include filing and file maintenance, to others in the office. The following skills are essential: outstanding typing, spelling, proofreading, and grammatical skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Windows 7/Word 2010); strong attention to detail; self-starter; ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment; and enthusiasm for working as part of a team.
