Title IX Investigator Training – Higher Education

Reports of student-on-student sexual harassment and misconduct are on the rise, due at least in part to educational campaigns and the #MeToo movement, meaning that universities and colleges spend more time handling these complaints than ever before. The U.S. Department of Education requires all college and university employees who are involved in the Title IX process to be trained annually on issues relating to dating violence, domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking, and on how to conduct an investigation and hearing process that protects the safety of victims and promotes accountability.

Join Bricker attorneys Josh Nolan and Melissa Carleton for an interactive and informative program to learn what the laws require, what your institution should be doing with regard to sexual harassment and misconduct and how to conduct a thorough and equitable investigation that is evidence-based.

This training is appropriate for administrators involved in the Title IX investigation process, investigators, hearing panel members and adjudicators. Participants will learn how to conduct interviews to obtain evidence necessary for evaluating policy violations and credibility, consider questions regarding consent and incapacitation and participate in experiential exercises to help put theory into practice.

If registering two or more individuals from the same organization, contact Lindsey Hohler at 614.227.6913 or lhohler@bricker.com for special pricing.

Space is limited to the first 60 registrants.
