Employee Benefits & Pension Plans

We have substantial experience advising employers who sponsor pension, retirement and welfare plans.

Overview

Representing over 100 public and private qualified and non-qualified plans, our attorneys are involved with the design, qualification, administration and modification of many types of employee benefits. We regularly counsel employers on topics related to document audits, plan sponsor/fiduciary advice, mergers, divestitures, executive compensation, and complete and partial terminations, to name a few.

Our team is known for helping employers of all sizes meet state and federal regulatory compliance measures, including HIPAA, ACA and ERISA considerations. And we assist with participation in voluntary correction programs with the IRS, if needed.

Our attorneys have experience with:

  • 401(k) plans
  • Defined benefit pension plans (including large, complex pension arrangements)
  • Employee stock ownership plans
  • Cafeteria plans
  • Medical plans
  • Deferred compensation and life insurance plans
  • Dependent care assistance
  • Tuition assistance
  • A wide variety of fully and partially self-funded health and benefit plans (including Section 50l(c)(9) tax-exempt trusts)
  • Governmental plans
  • Health care consortiums
