Bricker’s Cleveland office names Bill Mason partner in charge

Firm News

Bill Mason, former Cuyahoga County Prosecutor who joined Bricker & Eckler’s partnership in 2012, has been promoted to Partner-In-Charge of the firm’s Cleveland office. After leading the office for 10 years, Glenn Krassen is passing the reins to Bill to focus full time on his busy energy law practice.

Mason has held a variety of leadership positions in the northeast Ohio legal community over the last two decades. In addition to his role as Cuyahoga County Prosecutor, he served as the Law Director of the City of Parma and served as the President of the Ohio Prosecuting Attorneys Association. He currently serves as the Law Director for the villages of Walton Hills and Cuyahoga Heights as part of his focus on public sector law at Bricker.

“Bill will do an outstanding job as Partner-In-Charge of our Cleveland team,” said Krassen. “His experience as a leader in northeast Ohio speaks for itself.”

Since in private practice, Mason has helped local communities attract a number of economic development initiatives resulting in positive impacts for northeast Ohio. For instance, he helped create the tax increment financing for the Parmatown Redevelopment, the redevelopment of the North Royalton Library into a city hall, the construction and financing of the Village of Newburgh Heights city hall and fire station, and the creation of the Walton Hills/Sagamore Hills Township joint economic development district.

“Bill has the considerable leadership skills to continue our firm’s strategic growth in Cleveland,” noted Kurt Tunnell, Bricker’s managing partner. “Bill’s experience and wide array of contacts in Northeast Ohio will continue to provide advantages to our clients in the region.”

Krassen will continue as a partner at the firm, devoting his time to Bricker’s booming energy practice. “Glenn has enabled the Cleveland office to succeed adding talent, particularly our Public Sector and Energy Industry Groups. Glenn’s strategic thinking has helped grow our firm and the Cleveland office,” said Tunnell.  “We know he will continue to aid the firm and the Cleveland office in a variety of capacities while continuing to broaden our focus on the energy industry.”
