Gordon Litt is a partner with Bricker & Eckler LLP and a member of the tax, trusts & estates practice group. Gordon counsels privately-held business, business owners, their families and other advisors in designing comprehensive (yet practical and understandable) business succession plans, tax strategies and estate plans including various charitable giving alternatives. He also represents individuals and executives in connection with all aspects of personal estate planning and related estate, gift and generation-skipping tax planning and charitable giving. Gordon routinely organizes and restructures closely held businesses utilizing partnerships, limited liability companies, S corporations and C corporations. In connection with all of the above, Gordon regularly assists corporate trustees, financial advisors, insurance agents, appraisers and accountants.p>

Representative Experience

  • Counsel to a variety of closely-held businesses, owners and families in Ohio and around the country

  • Counsel to various charitable organizations (colleges, universities, private foundations, public charities) in connection with charitable giving and other matters

  • Counsel to landowners and land trusts in connection with conservation easements

  • Counsel to landowners and developers in structuring land acquisition, development and holding arrangements and like-kind exchanges

  • Successfully litigated federal tax cases, including the recovery of attorney fees from the IRS

  • Frequent lecturer to bar association and professional groups on tax, business and estate planning matters

  • Certified Public Accountant (inactive), with experience in the audit and tax areas of international accounting firm of Ernst & Whinney
