John Cook is a partner and chair of the Business Law Group practicing corporate law for over 25 years, with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, particularly corporate representation of insurance companies and insurance holding companies, third party legal opinions, asset securitization transactions, transactions involving sales of exempt securities, and general corporate representation for commercial transactions for business clients.

Served as outside counsel to several insurance holding companies in connection with major insurance company acquisitions
Served as outside counsel to Pittsburgh Pirates in connection with major financing and sale of assets transactions
Served as outside counsel to municipal client in acquisition of private water companies
Served as outside counsel to financing entities in connection with receivables securitization transactions
Has served as chair of firm's Opinion Letter Committee since 1989
Lectured on Third Party Legal Opinions at the American Bar Association Section of Business Law Spring Meeting 2000
