   Recruiting: 2008 Summer Associate Class

 

Bryn Beers attends Capital University Law School with an expected graduation date of 2009 and is a member of the Capital University Law Review staff where she will serve as associate notes editor in the coming school year. She also holds a B.A. in sociology from Ohio University. Bryn has also served as a Personnel Journeyman with the Ohio Air National Guard.

 

Melissa Carleton attends the University of Pennsylvania where she will receive her law degree in 2009 and where she is associate editor of the Journal of Constitutional Law. She received a Bachelor of Music Education magna cum laude from The Ohio State University where she received the School of Music Undergraduate Outstanding Achievement Award. Before attending law school Melissa worked as an office assistant with the Bricker & Eckler education law group and also as an assistant percussion instructor in the Dublin City Schools.


Rachel Covey attends The Ohio State University where she will receive her J.D. in 2009. She also holds a B.A. in English and music performance from Milligan College in Tennessee where she was Student Government President, class President, and valedictorian. She has worked professionally as a pianist and also as a resort and restaurant inspector.

 

Mandy Earl comes from University of Cincinnati, where she will be receiving her J.D. in 2010. She received her undergraduate degree magna cum laude in civil engineering and an M.S. in construction management, both from Washington University in St. Louis. She has worked as an assistant project manager for Miller-Valentine Construction in Dayton and as a project and geotechnical engineer with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Victoria Flinn is a student at The George Washington University where she will receive her law degree in 2009. She received her undergraduate degree magna cum laude in psychology research from Vanderbilt University. She has served as a legal intern with the Nashville, Tennessee Office of the District Attorney.

 

Zachary Gould will earn his J.D. from The Ohio State University in 2010. He is the recipient of the Moritz Leadership Scholarship and of the Diversity Enrichment Grant. He received his undergraduate degree in public policy and law from Trinity College. Prior to starting law school, Zachary worked as an intern in the U.S. House of Representatives and later in the U.S. Senate as an intern to Senator Christopher Dodd of Connecticut.

Chris Montgomery currently attends The Ohio State University where he will be receiving his J.D. in 2009 and where he is member of the Ohio State University Law Journal staff and a recipient of the Moritz Merit scholarship. He holds a Master's in Journalism from Northwestern University and a B.A. magna cum laude in history from Princeton University. He has worked as a reporter from the Cleveland Plain Dealer and for the Dayton Daily News. He has also externed with Judge Gregory Frost of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio.

Alana Shockey attends The George Washington University where she expects to receive her J.D. in 2009. She holds a B.A. with honors from The Ohio State University where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and Mortar Board National Honor Society. She has studied abroad in Quito, Ecuador, Dublin, Ireland and at Oxford University. Alana interned with the Ohio State Treasurer's Office and also with now-Governor Ted Strickland when he was a member of the U.S. House of Representatives.
