Economic Development Finance Attorney
Bricker & Eckler LLP is currently seeking an attorney to provide support to its strong and successful economic development finance team. Two plus years’ experience working with, and knowledge of, commercial real estate finance, public finance, or economic development finance, is a plus. Successful candidates will have existing exposure to, or a strong desire to learn, tax increment financing (TIF) law, tax abatement law, special assessment law, and other methods of public-private financing.
Candidates should also possess excellent academic credentials, high ethical standards, strong writing, analytical and communication skills, a desire to learn, and the ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team. Must possess strong workload management skills and be able to work with multiple attorneys on a variety of assignments. Office preference flexible (Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati, and Dayton).
Employee Benefits Attorney
Bricker & Eckler LLP is currently seeking an experienced attorney to join their Labor & Employment team. Successful candidates will have at least 7+ years experience working with employee benefits. Additional experience in the design, implementation and administration of qualified retirement plans, health and welfare plans, executive compensation plans, insurance benefits, fringe benefits, deferred compensation, and incentive bonus programs are a plus.
Candidates should also possess strong academic credentials and ethical standards, exceptional written and oral communication skills and the ability to work both independently or collaboratively with a team. Office location may be flexible and part-time arrangements will be considered.
Health Care Litigation/Medical Negligence Defense Attorney
Bricker & Eckler LLP is currently seeking an experienced attorney to join its growing Health Care Team in our Columbus Office. Successful candidates will have a minimum of 10 years’ of general litigation and medical negligence defense experience.
Candidates should also possess excellent academic credentials, high ethical standards, strong writing, analytical and communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Must possess strong project management skills and be able to work with multiple attorneys on a variety of assignments. Admission to the Ohio Bar is required.
Higher Education Attorney
Bricker & Eckler LLP is seeking an attorney to join its dynamic and fast-growing education practice. This team member will ideally have experience in areas of practice that include, but are not limited to labor and employment matters, employee benefits, disability law, higher education compliance, international programs and relationships, general business transactions, intellectual property and licensing, corporate governance and civil rights investigations. Experience working as in-house counsel or as an outside attorney providing legal counsel to higher education clients is preferred.
Effective candidates will be licensed to practice law and have strong interpersonal and presentation skills, an enthusiasm for university and college environments and the ability to build and maintain relationships while providing sound legal and practical judgment.
Remote and/or part-time arrangements may be considered however, flexibility to be on-site when needed may be required.
