"Mock Board Meeting: A Real World Experience"
10:15–11:15 a.m.
Bricker attorneys Matt Stout, Rob McCarthy, Paul Rutter, Jackie Lewis, Melissa Bondy, David Lampe and Casey Cross, Jenni Logan, Treasurer/Lifetime Member of Lakota Local School District, Rebecca Jenkins, Treasurer of New Albany-Plain Local School District, and Cajon Keeton, Treasurer/CFO of Benton Carroll Salem Local School District, will collaborate to present a mock school board meeting. Learn about a variety of topics, including but not limited to open meetings, public records, human resource matters, bond financing and five-year forecasting in a real world experience.

"Holistic Levy Planning"

Hear Bricker attorney Becky Princehorn, Melissa Swearingen, Treasurer/CFO of Delaware City School District, and George Kaitsa, Auditor, review levy options and dynamics from a holistic perspective, with an emphasis on pipelines and substitute levies.

"New Treasurer Survival Kit" 
3:30–4:30 p.m.
Are you a new treasurer? Bricker attorney Katie Johnson, Craig Yaniglos, Chief Financial Officer/Treasurer of Brookfield Local School District, and Lindsay Gingo, attorney at Lindsay Gingo Law LLC, will cover what you need to know to survive your first years in office with the help of a school treasurer who has been there and lived to tell the tale! Topics include negotiation preparation, the Sunshine Law, setting the tone for labor relations, establishing policies around key issues and the process of levy planning.

"Construction Project Hurdles—Project Administration and Disputes"
1:15–2:15 p.m.
From property acquisition to administering a construction project and pay applications to addressing disputes between project team members, undertaking a school construction project is a monumental task and requires experience to make a project successful. Bricker attorneys Chris McCloskey and Desmond Cullimore with Kelly Ziegler, Treasurer of Buckeye Valley Local School District, will share their experiences with the process and how to efficiently deal with problems.

"Increasing and Preserving Your Property Tax Base: Property Tax Valuation, Exemption and Related Issues"
3:30–4:30 p.m.
An overview of the Board of Revision process, emphasizing ways to defend against property tax valuation decrease complaints and strategies for generating additional school revenue. Bricker attorneys Tess Tannehill and Jon Brollier, together with James Rossler, Treasurer of the Rossford Exempted Village School District, will share their experience participating in this process, including Rossler's efforts to preserve and increase revenue for his district.
