Civil Rights Coordination and Investigation Training for K-12 School Administrators, Co-Sponsored by Bricker & Eckler LLP and the Bowling Green City School District

Student-on-student sexual harassment and discrimination is on the rise, particularly in situations involving sexting and social media. The U.S. Department of Education requires all Civil Rights Coordinators to be trained on anti-harassment procedures, and places a particular emphasis on the training of those who participate in the investigation and adjudication of discrimination and harassment complaints.

Do you know what protections the civil rights laws provide? Who coordinates civil rights complaints for your school district, and have they been properly trained? Are your employees following the required reporting procedures? Are your investigators using trauma-informed practices? Are your students receiving appropriate protective measures?

Join Bricker & Eckler attorneys Melissa Carleton and Laura Anthony for an interactive and informative program to learn what the laws require, what your policies say, and what your school district should be doing with regard to student-on-student harassment on the basis of protected traits such as sex, race, religion or national origin. This training is appropriate for K-12 civil rights coordinators, compliance officers, building administrators who investigate student misconduct, and district-level administrators.
