BWC reports that $10 Million in rebates haven’t been cashed

Article

The Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) announced that 5,500 employers have not cashed their rebate checks from the Third Billion Back program. Those checks represent a staggering $10 million, with one employer reportedly sitting on a check in the amount of $203,000!

The checks were issued this past July and are only good for 95 days. Some checks will expire today (October 10), and others will expire as late as October 18. Don’t worry, however, the BWC will re-issue new checks for employers who forget to cash them. But why not put the money to good use today? The rebates were issued with no strings attached, although the BWC encourages employers to invest in worker safety.
