The EEOC issues proposed rules on wellness plans

Article

On April 16, 2015, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) published its highly anticipated notice of proposed rulemaking addressing how the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) applies to some employer wellness programs.

If approved, the rule would provide much needed guidance on how to use financial incentives to encourage workers to participate in wellness programs without violating federal law.

Members of the public had until June 19, 2015 to comment on the proposed rule, which is available here.
