Jennifer Nelson Carney elected leader of Bricker’s health care industry group
Bricker & Eckler attorney Jennifer Nelson Carney was recently elected chair of the firm’s health care practice. She will serve on Bricker’s Executive Committee as Health Care Industry Group leader.
“Besides being an outstanding health care attorney in her own right, Jenny has tremendous leadership skills and instincts,” said Managing Partner Jim Flynn, who previously held the role. “She has worked closely with me and our other attorneys in building our national presence in health care law. And our group greatly respects her leadership and thinking.”
A highly-regarded attorney serving health care clients throughout the country, Nelson Carney is respected for her Medicare and Medicaid regulatory practice, as well as her involvement in electronic health record implementation, optimization and Meaningful Use. She is also a Vice Chair of the AHLA Medical Staff, Credentialing, and Peer Review Practice Group, a 2014 “Leadership Columbus” graduate, and has been recognized for her professional achievements by Chambers USA, Best Lawyers in America and Ohio Super Lawyers.
Nelson Carney was a member of Bricker’s “Tunnell Leadership Development Program” inaugural class in 2012. This innovative program was created during the tenure of former managing partner Kurt Tunnell to develop the firm’s internal leadership talent, with a focus on diversity and inclusion. Nelson Carney, along with nine other attorneys, participated in a six-month curriculum, integrating forward-thinking perspectives, dynamic projects and community advancement.
Nelson Carney will be the first woman to lead the firm’s health care group, the largest health care practice in the state and one of the largest in the country.
