    DeBra authors chapter for Complete Healthcare Compliance Manual publication

    Health care attorney Shannon DeBra contributed to Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA)’s new essential resource, Complete Healthcare Compliance Manual, as an author of “Provider-Based Rules and Regulations.” The book is an all-in-one, comprehensive guide written for compliance professionals by compliance professionals; it provides new and experienced practitioners with guidance and insights on the fundamentals of program management, risk assessment, compliance training, auditing and monitoring, and much more.

    Shannon has served in several prominent roles, including as senior counsel in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Counsel to the Inspector General where she represented the Inspector General in the resolution of civil False Claims Act (FCA) cases, as an assistant general counsel for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Division of Medical Assistance (the Massachusetts Medicaid Agency), and as Chief Compliance Officer for UC Health in Cincinnati. She worked with the U.S. Department of Justice in the investigation, development and resolution of False Claims Act cases; investigated, developed and negotiated resolution of civil monetary penalty cases; and reviewed legal sufficiency of proposals for provider exclusion under the federal health care programs.
