Long-time Bricker education attorney Randy Bank mourned by friends and colleagues

Firm News

Bricker attorneys and staff members mourn the loss of friend and colleague Randy Bank, who passed away on May 31, 2020, after a hard-fought battle against pancreatic cancer. Randy had over 35 years of legal experience as a labor attorney and worked frequently with school districts in collective bargaining matters.

Randy grew up in Shaker Heights and graduated from Kenyon College in 1979 before earning his J.D. from The Ohio State University in 1984. He joined Bricker in 1990 as an experienced labor attorney and became in an integral part of the firm’s statewide education practice. He was a mentor to many, and his relatable and personable approach made him beloved by clients and peers and a trusted advisor to school leaders throughout Ohio.

Randy was one of the first at Bricker to pioneer remote working arrangements and was well known for his prowess on the soccer field. Randy continued to support clients and play soccer long after his diagnosis. His drive is attributable, at least in part, to his indefatigable optimism and his determination not to let cancer interfere with his passion for life.

Randy’s ready smile and generous spirit will be missed by his Bricker family and all of his friends in the education community.
