Firm News

The National Law Journal (NLJ) recently announced its rankings for the NLJ 500 Women in Law Scorecard, which spotlights “U.S. law firms where women thrive.” Bricker & Eckler is listed 29th among  the 261 listed firms with a score of 65.6—the highest ranking for an Ohio-based law firm included on the list.

Bricker is recognized for having females account for 38 percent of the firm’s total attorneys. In addition, 27 percent of partners at the firm are female, illustrating Bricker & Eckler’s commitment to gender diversity and inclusion.

“The National Law Journal’s recognition of Bricker & Eckler in its 2017 Women’s Scorecard demonstrates our commitment to empower all Bricker attorneys—no matter their gender,” said Anne Marie Sferra, partner and chair of the firm’s women’s affinity group. “For decades we have been creating a work environment in which women attorneys can thrive. We are honored that the NLJ ‘s Women’s Scorecard highlights these efforts.”

NLJ determines each firm’s ranking by comparing the number of female lawyers and female partners at the nation’s top law firms. Those two percentages are added together to generate each firm’s score.
