CMS issues new meaningful use attestation guidelines

Article

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) recently published step-by-step user guides to help eligible hospitals (EH) and eligible professionals (EP) navigate the CMS Registration & Attestation system for meaningful use attestation. All EHs and EPs must begin their registrations through the CMS Registration & Attestation system. Medicare EHs and EPs will also use this site for attestation; however, Medicaid EPs and Medicaid-only EHs must attest through their state’s Medicaid agency website.

These new guides provide instructions and important information that EHs and EPs will need to successfully attest to meaningful use under the Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Programs. Additionally, the guides include helpful tips and screenshots to walk EHs and EPs through the process.

The user guides and additional CMS resources for successful attestation are available on the CMS website.
