HRSA announces 340B information system outage beginning August 15

Article

The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) announced that the 340B Office of Pharmacy Affairs Information System (340B OPAIS) will be unavailable from August 15, 2017, until mid-September 2017 as HRSA transitions to the new 340B OPAIS system that will debut in mid-September.

During this time, covered entities will not be able to submit change requests or terminations. However, through reports that will be available on the 340B Drug Pricing Program webpage on August 15, 2017, stakeholders will be able to verify covered entity participation, manufacturer participation and contract pharmacy enrollment in the 340B Program during the outage. HRSA states that the 340B Prime Vendor Program may be contacted with questions during the outage or in the case of emergent issues. Covered entities should plan ahead for any notifications or changes necessary to their HRSA records during the expected period of the outage.
