Reminder: Hospitals must use QualityNet for attestation in 2018

Eligible hospitals and critical access hospitals (CAHs) must now use the QualityNet Secure Portal (QNet) to submit meaningful use attestations for the Medicare Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Program. QNet is the same system currently used for clinical quality measure (CQM) reporting. The migration to QNet applies to all calendar year 2017 attestations, as well as any future reporting periods. Attestations had previously been submitted through the Medicare & Medicaid EHR Incentive Program Registration and Attestation System

Dually eligible hospitals and CAHs must register or update their registration with both QNet and the EHR Incentive Program Registration and Attestation System but then must attest through QNet. Medicaid-only eligible hospitals and CAHs should update their registration through the EHR Incentive Program Registration and Attestation System and should contact their state Medicaid agencies for specific information on how to attest.

The attestation period ends February 28, 2018

Hospitals are reminded to keep detailed documentation to support their attestation.
