Jhay T. Spottswood

Jhay Spottswood’s practice focuses on energy and environmental law. She has experience litigating on behalf of pipeline and wind energy companies and drafting mineral leases and solar lease agreements. Jhay also conducts Title IX investigations and drafts final reports for educational institutions.

Jhay is a graduate of The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, where she was a Michael E. Moritz Scholar, and a managing editor of The Ohio State Journal on Dispute Resolution. She also competed on OSU’s Mock Trial Travel Team and is the recipient of the Krivoshey Trial Award for Excellence in Trial Advocacy.

Her prior experience includes a summer associate position with Calfee, Halter & Griswold, and an externship at the Ohio EPA. She also clerked with the Honorable Judge George Smith of the Southern District of Ohio. Jhay earned her B.A. cum laude in Political Science and Spanish from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
