Craig E. Sweeney

Craig Sweeney grew up in Liberty, Indiana, less than an hour from Dayton, Ohio. After graduating law school, Craig went to work in a small law firm in Southeast Ohio as a general civil practitioner where he made partner after just 3 years. While his former role focused on energy law, he gained experience in all areas of practice including real estate transactions and litigation, title curative matters, contract disputes, estate planning, and probate proceedings. Given the unprecedented natural gas shale boom from 2011-2014, Craig’s litigation experience helped establish oil and gas case law in the State of Ohio.

By joining Bricker & Eckler in 2016, Craig further developed his practice within the energy industry. In his role as a member of the Firm’s Energy and Utilities Group, Craig collaborates with a team of seasoned professionals with experience in all areas of energy law. Within the Firm, Craig serves as co-chair of Bricker & Eckler’s Southeast Ohio Initiative and chair of the Firm’s Plastics/Chemical Strategy Team. His time at Bricker has provided him with expanded experience in a wide range of energy issues, including oil and gas and pipeline litigation; real estate litigation, real estate/midstream/upstream transactional matters, and title curative litigation. Craig serves as local counsel for national and international producers, pipeline companies and energy generation facilities. While Craig has worked in all areas of energy, his diverse background in real estate, contracts, estate planning and probate matters make him a multi-faceted asset to the Firm.

On the personal side, Craig recently moved “back home” to the Tipp City, Ohio area where he spends his free time with his wife Lindsey, chasing his three young children (Noelle, Connor, and Grace), and playing golf.
