Daniel B. May

Daniel May is an attorney in Bricker & Eckler’s Public Finance Group. Daniel supports the Group on a wide range of matters, including by serving as bond counsel to school districts throughout Ohio. Daniel’s practice also involves assisting clients with economic development projects utilizing Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) financing. Additionally, Daniel has experience establishing and managing economic development incentives and special purpose districts, including Joint Economic Development Districts and New Community Authorities.

Daniel is a 2020 graduate of The Ohio State University’s Moritz College of Law. While at OSU, he was a managing editor of the Ohio State Business Law Journal, public relations chair of the Student Bar Association and a member of the Business Law Society. Prior to attending law school, he earned his B.A. in Political Science at Denison University in 2017.

Daniel’s prior experience includes being a two-time member of Bricker’s Summer Associate class, an externship with Nationwide Children’s Hospital’s Legal Services Department, and an internship with American Modern Insurance Group’s Financial Institutions Division.

Experience

  • $120 million mixed-use development project

    Successfully led the closing of a mixed-use public-private development project in downtown Columbus, Ohio. Served multiple roles in the project’s financing, including as bond counsel to the developer, commercial loan bank representative and legal counsel for PACE financing.
