Karen "Katy" W. Osborn

Katy’s practice includes a broad scope of legal services including education, employment, estate planning, trusts and probate administration. In the education space, Katy counsels school boards on a variety of education law issues, including special education matters, Title IX compliance, labor negotiations, contracts, board policies, employment matters and student discipline and advises higher education institutions with respect to operational, employment and student matters. She regularly conducts seminars on Title IX and other civil rights laws. She advises higher education institutions with respect to operational, employment and student matters. In addition, Katy works with individual clients to develop and implement a comprehensive estate plan tailored to meet their unique needs. Katy is a CPA (inactive) and worked in public accounting for 10 years prior to practicing law.

Katy and her husband Mike, who is also an attorney, enjoy spending time with their two children, Grant and Caroline.

Since settling in Clark County in 2001, Katy and her family have been actively involved in the Springfield community.

Mock Trial/Moot Court Program Founder

Katy is the founder of the Springfield High School Mock Trial/Moot Court Program. In her spare time, you will find her working with high school students to help them prepare for intense competitions. In addition to participating in the statewide Ohio Center for Law Related Education Program, her students have competed at Empire International Mock Trial Tournaments in San Francisco, New York and Atlanta, and in the one-on-one Gladiator Mock Trial Competition in California.
