Politics and baseball: Koppitch describes American patriotism in “first pitches” article

Just in time for Opening Day, government relations attorney Matt Koppitch was recently featured in The Columbus Dispatch, authoring an article based on his two favorite topics – politics and baseball. Citing several milestones in American history, he describes how the podium and the mound intersect. While some first pitches are flubs, others, such as President George W. Bush’s infamous post-9/11 perfect strike, have become iconic moments of the American spirit. Importantly, Opening Day and the first pitches it brings, combine, “hope, pride, celebration and enthusiasm that unites a country.”
