Noorjahan Rahman

Noor Rahman is a member of Bricker & Eckler’s Financial Services & Litigation industry group. In her role, she counsels consumer-facing organizations on strategies that avoid liability under state and federal consumer protection laws. Her advice to businesses involves the planned allocation of risk using contracts, lawful marketing practices, prudent cybersecurity and privacy policies, and clear internal governance mechanisms. Noor also advises on corporate and securities laws that affect business transactions. Her experience litigating contract and real estate disputes enables her to evaluate risks captured by written agreements.

Among other laws, Noor advises businesses on compliance with the ‘34 Act, Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)/Anti-Money Laundering (AML) rules, Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), and the TILA-RESPA Integrated Disclosure rules (TRID). When clients face scrutiny by regulators, Noor defends them in enforcement actions brought under state and federal consumer protection laws. Her experience includes defense against the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and several state attorney generals.

Previously, Noor was a student attorney in the Center for Applied Legal Studies at Georgetown University Law Center. In that capacity, she successfully obtained political asylum for two Honduran refugees. Her work included oral argument before a federal immigration judge and acquiring sworn declarations from witnesses residing in remote Honduran villages. She also clerked at the Office of Delaware Attorney General (Beau Biden) and worked at the Washington, D.C.-based consulting firm Advisory Board Company. In 2011, she served as Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar in Beirut, Lebanon. Noor interned for an Ohio governor and an Ohio congresswoman.
