TaKeysha M. Sheppard

TaKeysha Sheppard is a business development professional with nearly 20 years of experience driving new sales, public relations and marketing initiatives. She is known for her skill in cultivating a diverse group of stakeholders using research, written and verbal communications, media relations, social media outreach, strategic planning and event marketing. Having developed and implemented business development initiatives within the health care, government and energy sectors, she builds brand awareness and drives growth across a variety of industries.

As an entrepreneur and employee of corporate and government organizations, TaKeysha has past experience cultivating and managing teams to achieve strategic objectives, as well as measuring the impact of programs and projects. She is the former director of community and member engagement for Columbus-based health insurer, where she led the development and oversaw brand awareness, marketing and public relations initiatives and developed organization strategy using research, analytical data and marketplace trends. She also coordinated government and community affairs for a competitive retail energy provider and has held roles in city and state government offices.

TaKeysha is the founder and former CEO of “The Women’s Book,” a community-based, directory of local resources for women that contains categorized lists of nonprofits and woman-owned businesses, products and services, and the profiles of a diverse range of inspiring women leaders.
