Economic impact of shale development in Ohio on the rise

Firm News

Columbus, Ohio – Bricker & Eckler LLP published its third edition of the “Shale Economic Development Overview” today detailing approximately $22.3 billion in economic development projects in Ohio as a direct result of shale development.

“Not surprisingly, a majority of the new projects are focused around infrastructure and processing facilities,” according to Matt Warnock, co-chair of the Bricker’s Shale Task Force.

“We created the first report last October (2013) and we identified $12.2 billion in new projects,” said Chris Schmenk, Bricker attorney and President of Argus Growth Consultants. “One year later, the economic impact of shale, oil and gas development in Ohio has grown by almost $9 billion.”
