    Bricker offers law students an in-depth learning experience that provides exposure to the legal profession, while identifying top legal talent to join our practice upon graduation. The attorneys and staff at Bricker work together to challenge, stimulate and motivate our Summer Associates as they do real client work, collaborate with lawyers, develop camaraderie with their class, and find out what it is like to practice at a respected law firm.

    Recruiting for the 2020 Summer Associate Class is now complete. Beginning Fall 2020, we will be seeking law students with strong academic backgrounds and leadership skills for our 2021 Summer Associate class.

    Lateral Attorneys

    Higher Education Attorney (Cleveland)
    Bricker & Eckler is currently seeking an experienced higher education attorney to join its dynamic and fast-growing higher education practice. Three–five years’ experience working as in-house counsel or as an outside attorney providing legal counsel to higher education clients is strongly preferred. Successful candidates will also have strong interpersonal and presentation skills, an enthusiasm for university and college environments, and the ability to build and maintain relationships while providing sound legal and practical judgment. In addition to investigation skills, an ideal team member will have a working legal knowledge of one or more of the following areas: disability law, higher education compliance, international programs and relationships, general business transactions, intellectual property and licensing, and corporate governance. The position will be based out of our Cleveland office and will require availability for regular overnight travel. Must be licensed in Ohio.

    Workers’ Compensation Attorney (Columbus)
    Bricker & Eckler is currently seeking an experienced Workers’ Compensation attorney to join its Employment & Labor team in our Columbus Office. Successful candidates will have at least three years’ experience working as an attorney and will be expected to represent clients at hearings. Some travel is required. Part-time or flexible schedules may be considered. Must be licensed in Ohio.

    Transactional Attorney (Dayton or Cincinnati)
    Bricker & Eckler is currently seeking an experienced transactional attorney to join its dynamic and fast-growing Public Finance Team. This position will support practices across Ohio with a focus on transactional activity in the Southwest Ohio area. Four to seven years’ experience in one of the following substantive areas of law: commercial finance, development finance, state and local tax incentives, public law or public finance is strongly preferred. The position will be based out of our Cincinnati or Dayton offices. Some travel required. Must be licensed in Ohio.

    Construction Law Fellow (Columbus)
    Our firm offers a unique program for engineers or architects interested in transitioning to construction law. The Bricker & Eckler Construction Fellowship combines part-time study with full-time immersion in a real-world construction law department while at the same time making accommodations for exam schedule.     Legal Administrative Assistant - Education Practice (Columbus)
    Bricker & Eckler is currently searching for a Legal Administrative Assistant to join our Education team in our downtown Columbus, Ohio, location. The candidate must have one to two years of experience in an office setting. Legal experience is preferred but not required. Duties will include supporting the attorneys and legal assistants with filing, time entry, scanning, calendaring, mail processing and document preparation, among other tasks. Candidate should have outstanding typing, spelling, proofreading and grammatical skills and also be proficient with Microsoft Office applications. Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks is required. Candidates should display a high level of professionalism and reliability and have the ability to work well as part of a team.

    Legal Assistant/Secretary – Construction Law (Columbus)

    Bricker & Eckler is currently searching for a legal assistant with strong secretarial and administrative talents and at least five years of prior legal experience, including strong litigation skills to support our construction litigation practice. Work includes assisting attorneys who negotiate construction project contracts, including representing clients if litigation arises. Candidate should have an aptitude for training on new systems; excellent written/oral communication skills; strong attention to detail; excellent editing skills, including proofreading; and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Candidate should also display a high level of professionalism, reliability and have the ability to work well on a team and with personnel at all levels.
