On September 20, 2021 Governor Beshear announced that Kentucky would receive only 4,690 monoclonal antibodies for the week due to the national shortage. This resulted in the antibodies being allocated to 79 sites across Kentucky based on backorder requests, current inventory and prior week utilization. On Thursday, September 23, Governor. Beshear shared that 90 acute care hospitals have administered 4,385 of the available 4,690 monoclonal antibody treatment courses so far this week. Those who are not vaccinated are encouraged to do so, as there is no guarantee future antibody treatments will be available due to the national shortage.
