On August 5, 2010, the U.S. Senate, by unanimous consent, confirmed the nominations of scores of President Obama’s appointments to various agencies. However, the nomination of Craig Becker to a term ending in December 2014 on the National Labor Relations Board was sent back to the White House. Mr. Becker, who received a recess appointment to the NLRB in April, 2010, will have to be re-nominated (as he was in January 2010 after the first time the Senate failed to confirm him) if he is to be considered again for a full term. Should that not happen, Mr. Becker’s current recess appointment will expire at the end of 2011.
